FlipLens helps resellers price items and list them for sale. It keeps as little about you as it can, and never sells or shares your information for advertising.
Photos you scan
Photos are shrunk on your phone, then sent to FlipLens's server to identify the item and look up comparable listings. They are not saved on the server after the answer comes back. Saved flips, including their photos, stay in your browser on your device.
Your FlipLens account
If you create an account, FlipLens stores your username, your email address, and a one-way scrambled form of your password (the password itself is never stored). Your email is used only to confirm your account and to reset your password.
Your eBay connection
If you connect eBay, you sign in on eBay's own page — FlipLens never sees your eBay password. eBay gives FlipLens a permission key that lets it:
- create listings you choose to post, with the photos and details you approve,
- read your saved eBay shipping, payment and return policies so you can pick one, and
- read your eBay username so FlipLens can show which account is connected.
That key is stored encrypted on FlipLens's server and is linked to your browser by a random ID in a secure cookie. FlipLens does not read your messages, orders, buyers' details or payment information.
To remove it, tap Disconnect eBay in any listing screen — the key is deleted immediately. You can also remove FlipLens from your eBay account under eBay's Account › Third-party app access settings. An unused connection expires on its own.
Other marketplaces
For Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Mercari and other apps, FlipLens only copies the listing text to your clipboard and opens that app's own page. It doesn't connect to those accounts or receive anything from them.
Market lookups
Searches for comparable listings are sent to eBay and, for music, to Discogs, using only the item's search terms.
Services FlipLens runs on
FlipLens runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests and hosts the database. Item identification uses AI models run on Cloudflare. If email is enabled, it is sent through an email delivery provider solely to deliver account emails.
Deleting your information
Disconnecting eBay deletes its key. Clearing your browser's site data removes saved flips and preferences from your device.
